A Message from Lance in the UK!

I am so excited to come over and teach in the UK.  I just got in from teaching today.  I was in Rotterdam tonight and at scrapware earlier today.  And as it is 2 AM I am a bit tired but its 6 PM back at home and they are just finishing the week up.  I

am all over the UK over the next week. Sunday afternoon, I am at the event.  I teach the coolest Lucky Box ever.  On Monday I am going to Scrap Geanie.  I am teaching a Teach the teachers class.  It is a fun class.   I teach a couple of projects and while I teach I tell them what I am doing to help teachers learn more about teaching. Did I say teaching enough?  Tuesday I am with Altered Treasures.  I think that is what this post is about.  Wednesday, I am at the Scrap Book Shop up north.  Thursday is in Edinburgh with one of Rusty Pickles amazing designers Becky.  Then after a quick Air Lingus flight I am off to Dublin Ireland for a great little mini event with the Scrap Book Store by Annamarie.   I get to teach with Donna Downey.  She is AWESOME.

We had a blast this week on a bit of a whirlwind tour.  Monday was Scrapbook Mate in Holland.  Tuesday - early, off to France by way of Geneva.  Wednesday in Belgium.  Voulez vous scrapbook avec moi ce soir?  I had some great fries in Belgium - oops I mean chips.  Then back to northern Holland for Simpel Scrappen.   Then, Donna was off to the UK and I was left here teaching until tomorrow night.  It is a good thing that I can sleep on flights.

Helen mentioned there was a question about if I had taught these classes already or if they are old.  As for teaching old classes. Some are and some aren't.  For Altered Treasures, Girl Unexpected is but Pocket Pop Up is about 8 months out.  But these two are my favorite of all the classes that I have taught in the past 4 years.  Besides, if you didn't take take it with me then it is now - new to you.  They are also the most technical and maybe the most difficult to teach but they are the best classes that I have taught and I have figured out how to teach them to people of EVERY level (and all in the same class).  I break them down so that beginners can get through the class as well as an advanced scrapper.  These were designed by Karen Burniston.  Karen is one of my favorite designers for my classes.  Every kit that she does for me - moves, flips, pops or is just way too freaking cool.

The girl unexpected I believe that I taught it in Whales last year. And as for the pop up, I taught it in Holland last December (sort of).   I didn't have the actual kits and so I had to fake it.  I ended up teaching the pop up part of the kit and then we put it into another kit that they received  during class.  They were then sent the kit a few weeks later.

Here are some revisions to my supply list.

POP UP kit  - Do not to worry about the needle nose pliers.  I have changed how I teach this class - don't bring them.  You should bring a Tacky tape (glue dots don't really cut it -If this is a problem email Helen or me at lance@rustypickle.com   A scoring tool is Critical (But I also have a bunch of these).  Finally, I also recommend a wet adhesive OR glue stick for both projects.

I get on a plane tomorrow for the UK and am a little anxious about renting a car and driving on the "wrong" side of the road again.  Cheers.
Lance
Mr Pickle

PS: if you see me just give me a "BRILLIANT".  I love that word, but only with an English accent.

Japan Update

Check out Donna Downey's blog for a peek at Lance in Japan (he's featured about halfway through the video)!  More peeks to come from the trip so stay tuned!

Japan Rocks

I had too much fun in Japan.  I got to hang out with Donna and Bill, Emily Adams, Lisa and Steve, Brittney, Brian - Nicky my translator with the scottish accent and toooo many fun people to count.  I told Donna that I was going to add it but Donna and Bill are like my new BFF.  I loved them.  They were so much fun. and cool and wow.  I WANT TO TAKE A DONNA CLASS.  Muskrat, Muskrat, Muskrat.  Did I tell you that Muskrats love pickles!

But, this last trip kicked my butt.  I have been so tired coming home and then in the middle of the night I totally awake.   It is now Sunday and I am almost back to normal what ever that is. (I got home on Wednesday).  Today, we went to church and came home and watched disney chanel with my kids and worked on puzzles with them.  Now it is time to start my blog again.

I am going to have to just add a bunch of pics and vids from my trip.

Happy Friday! (A note from Tasha)

I'm so excited for the winners. For those who did not win, I'm sure we'll have more give-a-ways; after all this is Lance's blog and we all know how he likes to give things away, especially in exchange for chocolate!!!.

To clarify about some of the confusion during this last challenge, I just want to say that our entire crew has been working very hard getting ready for CHA and getting ready for the expo in Costa Mesa. Our creative blog co-director taught at the Costa Mesa expo and was frantically trying to juggle the blog challenge at the same time, while teaching in Orange County. Everyone has been doing their best and we are all working hard to keep things going during this busy time. Unfortunately mistakes do happen and we are very sorry for that, there has been no dishonesty, or malicious intent to harm or otherwise upset anyone that visits this joyful blog. Please keep this the happy place that it is meant to be and if you need to vent, feel free to contact Lance directly, he's always looking for opportunities to make the ladies feel special.

Thanks to everyone for all of their support. And if any of you are taking his classes in New York, tell Lance that his wife says "hi"!!!

Have a fabulous day ladies,
Tasha

A note to everyone who supports and follows Rusty Pickle

I just wanted to shout out to all of our awesome fans, customers, friends and otherwise partners in crime!!  :)
Also to our wonderful blogger friends who do such an awesome job of keeping this blog and the RP blog running all the time!  I know this past week has been crazy busy and a little confusing for all of us with traveling to shows, teaching classes for Rusty Pickle, running all the giveaways on the blog while CHA is also going on; oh and that thing about keeping our personal lives running as well!!!  I am sure we can all understand how posts get mixed up and things get a little crazy.  As for myself, I am thankful for all that others do here on the blogs that make my life so much easier and I am always thankful for Rusty Pickle and their generosity in giving out prizes!  I have been working with Rusty Pickle for quite some time now and it has been a great ride with excitement, fun, bumps, laughter, TONS of hard work, some pain and always, in the end, I feel grateful to be on this grand adventure with people I love, people who I admire and all the new friends I meet along the way.
Happy Day!
Emily Smith

CHA-Winter Giveaway Finale

A huge congrats to this week's winners and a gigantic thanks to those who left Lance and the rest of the Rusty Pickle gang some love!  You are our reason for continuing to create fun papers and supplies.  We hope you enjoyed our latest designs and find a place for them in your albums and other creations. You constantly keep us inspired and energized, and we thank you for that!  Please remember, we are always looking for opportunities to share our Pickle love so if you didn't win this time around, no worries! Lance as well as the Chefs enjoy reading your comments here on the blog and occasionally peruse through them to find people to send RAKs to, so don't be shy! If you have photos of a class with Lance to share, all the better!  We are also adding a few more features to both blogs next month and with that comes more giveaways, so stay tuned for that!

Now for the lucky winner of yesterday's random drawing for a CHA-Winter Show Pack!
