Where In The World Is Lance?

I am such a geek

I was supposed to be in San Diego this weekend but ended up canceling because of the fires.  Wow.  My heart goes out to anyone effected.  This is such a horrible thing.  As a Scrapbooker, I did watch the news and pick up on many people talking about saving their pets and photo albums.  I think our pictures would be our most valuable thing ever.  We have had 3 design team members in the area and our prayers go out to them.  If you know anyone that has lost everything, please forward my their info so we can send them a rusty Pickle starter kit to start making new memories.

On a more cheerful note, I stayed home and have played with my family.  We had a "boring" day, according to my 5 year old Audrey, running errands.  But, I did have fun "Rocking out" to Ashley Tisdale.  Audrey's favorite person (From High School Musical and #2).  However, I wasn't expecting to rock out to this pop music for a few more years.  This song isn't so bad.  Ok I actually like it. (Audrey is dancing and signing as I type this now).

So the I have to tell you about what's happening by our house.  For the past few months they have been building a bridge off to the side of the exit ramp to our house.  Seriously, this HUGE Bridge just on the side of the freeway.  So this weekend has been the Bridge event.  They have special parking and view areas.  Wow, too funny.  But it is SOOOO COOOOL.  Today they "Picked" the new bridge up and rolled it into place.  The freeway below will only be closed this weekend.  It has been totally cool to watch and as an engineer, I am so intrigued.   Here is a link to the news that shows the live "action" and here is a link to a file (45 meg MPG) that illustrates how the whole project will work.  or view it here. Pickle Party Winner with Lance

Here she is Heidi Erickson, the winner of the PICKLE PARTY WITH LANCE album contest!

She is an absolutely amazing girl! We just fell in love with her (even more than we did after seeing her album-if that is possible) she is genuine and sweet, wicked funny, kind and generous. Heidi won a private class for her and all of her friends with Lance and then dinner for her and three friends. What a fun night it was for everyone involved - absolutely picklicious ! (to the far left in this picture is Ginger Ditton, 1st runner up in the album contest)

A Picklelicious Party

SCRAP HAPPY SISTERS was the lucky store that won 1st runner up for the PICKLE PARTY with Lance. They enjoyed having Lance at the store and being the very first store to have a class with the brand new Arcrylic Albums hot off the press. Congrats Kit & Kris.

Arizona Armstrong Fundraiser

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that attended the Armstrong Family Fundraising event in Arizona yesterday.  Lance enjoyed himself silly!  Here are some fun photos from the awesome event.  We'll also be posting an album with tons more- so be sure to check that out! A Scrapbook Widower (for the night)

This is a description of a Wild and Crazy Friday night for me now.  Funny how things change (and I don’t even mind).

Friday night tasha went to the Scrapbook USA in Utah to scrapbook and left me to hang out with the kids.  First of all, I am not used to being the one left for a scrapbooking event but I figured we would make the most of it.  Tash dropped off the kids at work while I was finishing some things and Mason went a little crazy So I made him a paper airplane.   Then I had to make one for Audrey – in PINK.  The wind was just right as we played for an hour.  I was trying to teach them the finer art of throwing a paper airplane but we just had fun throwing them and then chasing them down. 

We were off to find dinner and Audrey was asking for Arbys but when we passed a Wendys – oops that is what she really meant.  We had a near melt down because we they didn’t both get a chocolate frosty.  We had a vanilla and a chocolate, so I ended up with a mini vanilla frosty.  It wasn’t so bad.

Next we went to the Mac store.  This is just a big toy store for both the kids and dad.   Audrey had to listen to the new mini and was rocking out to some cool jazz.   She was having a great time trying out all the different types of music.  It is kind of fun, having the huge variety of music that I would usually never listen to.  (I am stuck in the 80’s with a little new stuff – love the “Killers”).  We were looking at macs for Tash as her laptop wasn’t doing so well and the kids were having fun playing with the macs for kids.    I then found out about “The Studio”.  I had to ask what is that.  It is a place to learn about everything mac and it only costs $100 and you can get tons of training for the year.  As I was learning about this, Mason tried to climb up on the stool and fell forward splitting his lip and bleeding ALL over.  Wow face wounds tend to bleed.  After we stopped the incredible amounts of blood,  I resumed my learning and Mason had to show everyone that would listen his new “OWIE”.   

Our next stop was to the bookstore.   I had to get a copy of Enders Game for a friend.  (This is my FAVORITE book for men AND boys – it is a MUST HAVE for any aged male in your life – buy it for them and they will love you)  Then we of course had to get books for the kids.  Audrey got a book about Ameilia Bedelia.  Wow.  That was an interesting read.  Amelia sure isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.  Mason still loves Elmo - “Melmo”.  We were about to leave and Audrey found Thomas the train section and had to YELL it so mason could hear.  Mason goes COOCOO for Thomas the train.  To finish our fun we hung out at the water fountain that wasn’t, but the kids had fun running around.  

I was hoping they had fallen asleep in the car but no luck.  When we got home we did the nightly ritual of Changing into Pajamas, Brushing teeth, reading 1 book each because it was so late, saying prayers and then Trying to get them asleep.   All in all A pretty fun night.
